Welcome to TIA, North Texas' premiere technology and curriculum conference, held at Denton Ryan High School, July 19 and 20, 2016.
As the scope of technology expands in our society, so too does it expand in the classroom. Technology in the classroom is no longer limited to slideshows viewed from a projected computer, or trips to a computer lab to type a paper. Technology has woven its way into daily life in a way that is inescapable. It is the responsibility of schools to prepare students for continuing education and careers in an increasingly digital world.
TIA has one simple goal: Provide an opportunity for hundreds of educators to explore innovative and effective ways to serve their students by fusing technology and curriculum into one, cohesive unit. This moves students toward mastery of concepts and skills. When utilized effectively, technology can promote a classroom that provides students with content knowledge alongside the intangible 21st century skills of effective communication, content creation, collaboration, and critical thinking. Each of these skills can be applied in creating success beyond the walls of a school building.
Join us in critically thinking about our technology pedagogy and practices through communicating and collaborating with like-minded educators. Take what you learn at TIA and create learning experiences for your students that will stay with them for a lifetime. We look forward to seeing you there!
